Building Digital Foundations: New Partnership to Accelerate Saudi Data Center Growth

Taranis Capital, a Dubai-based investment firm specializing in digital infrastructure, has joined forces with Emaar Executive Company (EEC) to develop next-generation data center facilities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This strategic collaboration aims to address the growing demand for carrier-neutral digital infrastructure driven by Vision 2030 and the rapid adoption of AI technologies.

The partnership combines Taranis Capital’s fund management expertise with EEC’s vertically integrated engineering, construction, and operations capabilities—creating a comprehensive platform poised to deliver world-class digital infrastructure solutions. Initial plans call for strategically located data center campuses offering 40–50 MW capacity per site, incorporating advanced cooling technologies and flexible designs optimized for evolving AI workloads.

“This partnership brings together precisely the right combination of expertise to capitalize on Saudi Arabia’s significant data center opportunity,” said Nicholas Bingham, CEO of Taranis Capital. “EEC’s proven track record in delivering hyperscale-grade facilities, coupled with investor interest in digital infrastructure assets within the Kingdom, positions us for rapid execution.”

The initiative addresses a critical gap in the market—the lack of carrier-neutral, multi-tenant data centers capable of supporting the connectivity ecosystems that enterprises and cloud platforms require. Milan Radia, partner at Taranis Capital, emphasized this point: “What’s missing in Saudi Arabia is the community-of-interest model that has powered successful data center providers like Equinix and Telecity globally.”

With support from the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA), the joint venture will benefit from streamlined regulatory processes and alignment with Vision 2030 goals—including accelerating digital capacity, fostering innovation, and achieving technological leadership across key sectors. According to Karthik Ramaswamy, COO of Emaar Executive Company, “Our local workforce and experience in delivering complex technology projects ensure we can scale quickly while maintaining the highest quality standards.”

The partnership represents a significant step toward realizing Saudi Arabia’s ambition of becoming a global digital hub—providing essential infrastructure for AI innovation, cloud adoption, and economic diversification across the Kingdom.
