South African AI Coding Platform HyperDev Raises $1M to Accelerate Development

A South African startup specializing in generative AI for software development, HyperDev, has successfully secured $1 million in pre-seed funding from investors across Europe and the UK. The company’s platform enables users to build applications faster while maintaining control over their code.

HyperDev launched its alpha testing versions in 2025 before expanding with version 11 earlier this year to a closed group of aspiring developers. Its key innovation lies in ‘Guided Mode,’ an AI assistant that helps users efficiently refine and utilize code generated by large language models, ensuring functional solutions while allowing for customization.

The funding will support HyperDev’s mission to bridge the gap between AI-generated code and real-world applications. As CTO and Co-Founder Piotr Sobolewski explained, “Every AI coding tool on the market was built on the assumption that generating code was the hard part. We built HyperDev because we knew the hard part was what came after - taking that generated code from prototype to production-ready software.”

The platform also caters to non-technical users by allowing them to hire developers who can further refine AI-generated solutions. This creates a unique ecosystem where technical and non-technical individuals can collaborate on building software.
