Driving the Future of Finance: Huawei’s Agentic Banking Push

Huawei recently unveiled a comprehensive suite of digital finance solutions at its annual Intelligent Finance Summit (HiFS) in Shanghai, signaling a major acceleration toward agentic banking across the global financial sector. The summit, attended by hundreds of industry leaders and partners from around the world, showcased Huawei’s vision for a future where AI-powered agents transform both customer experiences and operational efficiency.

A New Era of Financial Intelligence

The core announcement centered on a hybrid AI architecture that combines open-source foundation models with robust security frameworks. This approach enables financial institutions to safely scale AI adoption across critical operations while maintaining regulatory compliance and data privacy. By shifting from traditional GUI interfaces to natural language interactions, Huawei aims to deliver hyper-personalized services driven by intent recognition and contextual memory.

“Artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving from an assistive tool into a productive force capable of autonomous task execution,” noted Jason Cao, CEO of Huawei Digital Finance BU. “We’re approaching a point where AI becomes a digital steward for every user and supports financial professionals with intelligent avatars.”

Data Foundation for Agentic Banking

The new solutions are built on a robust data infrastructure foundation, including:

  • Financial Data Intelligence Solution 6.0: Enables tenfold efficiency gains in risk analysis through real-time processing, all-domain data access, and converged platforms
  • AI-ready data lake: Supports multimodal storage for unstructured data like documents and videos
  • R.A.C.E framework: Prioritizes Real-time processing, All-domain data, Converged platforms, and Experience-driven automation

Modernizing Core Banking Systems

Huawei also introduced its Digital CORE Solution 6.0 to help banks modernize legacy applications in cloud environments. Key features include:

  • AI-powered code transpiration: Accelerates decommissioning of mainframe systems with over 90% adoption rates
  • Modular architecture: Enables faster deployment of new services and integrations
