GE Appliances has integrated over 800 artificial intelligence (AI) agents into its manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain operations. This initiative leverages Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise to create a data-driven ecosystem that optimizes production processes.

“AI is now integral to the way work gets done at GE Appliances,” stated Mandar Deo, chief digital officer. The company’s “Brilliant Factory” platform tracks real-time data across all lines and shifts, enabling employees to review an entire shift’s performance in minutes instead of hours.

Key Benefits Realized

• Supplier communication automation: An AI agent managing communications with over 600 suppliers reduced order inquiries by 25%, freeing staff for higher-value tasks.
• Early defect detection: Scanning customer feedback and photos allows identification of product issues before they reach consumers.
• Production flexibility: The Roper Corporation plant in LaFayette, Georgia, can now produce gas, electric, or induction ranges on the same line, adapting to changing demand patterns.

The company has invested over $3.5 billion in U.S. manufacturing since 2016, with the Georgia plant undergoing a $180 million expansion that added 600 jobs and tripled robotic usage.
