Experian and ServiceNow Partner to Advance Regulated AI Lending
At Money20/20 Europe, global information services giant Experian unveiled its Agent Operating System (AOS), marking a significant shift in enterprise AI for financial institutions. The platform arrives as a core capability within Experian’s Ascend Platform and features ServiceNow as the foundational launch partner under a multi-year agreement.
The AOS represents a move away from single-prompt chatbots toward networks of autonomous agents authorized to make high-stakes lending decisions - addressing common bottlenecks in AI deployment.
The Enterprise AI Challenge
Despite substantial investments in AI, financial institutions often struggle to scale autonomous models due to:
- Workflow integration issues (48%)
- Poor data lineage (32%)
- Fragmented data silos (31%) - according to Experian research
The AOS aims to solve these challenges by establishing a unified layer that connects various AI components into a controlled ecosystem.
Key Features of the Agent Operating System:
- Trusted Operating Layer: Centralized identity verification and compliance controls
- Ecosystem Composability: Allows seamless collaboration between different AI models
- Agent-Native Decisioning: Enables autonomous investigation and optimization
- Embedded Governance: Hardcoded risk management, explainability protocols, and audit trails
- Human-in-the-Loop Safeguards: Automated checks with escalation for complex cases
This architecture covers the entire lending cycle - from customer acquisition to regulatory reporting.
Consumer Acceptance Drives Adoption
A recent HarrisX poll found that 55% of global consumers are willing to authorize AI agents to make commercial purchases on their behalf, rising to 70% among those aged 25-39. This growing consumer trust creates demand for auditable systems that track and protect automated financial pipelines.
“Agentic AI will reshape financial services, changing how decisions are made,” said Vijay Mehta, GM of AI at Experian Software Solutions - highlighting the transformative potential of this technology.
