Billtrust Adds Buyer Portal to Accelerate B2B Transactions
Accounts receivable (AR) automation provider Billtrust has launched a new suite of tools designed to streamline business-to-business payments, improve buyer experiences, and give finance teams greater visibility into cash flow.
The additions include:
- Buyer Payment Portal: A self-service experience allowing buyers to view invoices, manage balances, enroll in Autopay, make payments via multiple methods, and optimize payment timing for discounts or fee avoidance. For suppliers, this portal enables centralized management of payment preferences without needing support tickets.
- Cash Forecast Analytics: A 13-week projection tool that uses real-time payment data, invoicing history, and open AR balances to predict cash inflows. An agentic layer monitors buyer behavior for changes in patterns.
According to Billtrust’s chief product officer Lee Ann Schommer, these tools aim to create a win-win scenario by “actively guiding buyers toward actions that benefit both sides of the transaction.” The Cash Forecast feature analyzes payment activity across all channels—not just those integrated with a company’s ERP system—to provide more comprehensive insights.
This expansion comes as AR is increasingly recognized as strategic function rather than back-office task. By augmenting ERP systems with specialized platforms like Billtrust’s, companies can reduce days sales outstanding, improve cash conversion cycles, and shift from reactive to proactive financial management.
