BBVA Teams Up with AWS to Supercharge AI Deployments
BBVA, one of Spain’s largest banks, has announced a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build a robust machine learning operations (MLOps) framework. This initiative aims to significantly reduce the time required for deploying new AI models across the bank’s various business units.
The collaboration will focus on creating a standardized and automated pipeline that covers the entire model lifecycle, from development and testing to deployment and monitoring. By leveraging AWS’s cloud infrastructure and MLOps tools, BBVA expects to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and accelerate innovation in areas such as risk management, customer service, and fraud detection.
“This partnership with AWS represents a key step forward in our digital transformation journey,” said Javier Garcia-Parra, Head of Data at BBVA. “By building this MLOps framework, we’ll be able to bring AI solutions to market faster while maintaining the highest standards of quality and security.”
The new framework will enable BBVA’s data scientists and engineers to collaborate more effectively, share resources, and reuse components across different projects. This will not only speed up development but also reduce redundancy and improve consistency in how AI models are built and deployed.
Analysts predict that this move will position BBVA as a leader in the adoption of AI within the European banking sector, allowing it to compete more effectively with fintech startups and other digital-first financial institutions.
