Remedial Health, a health tech startup focused on enhancing Africa’s pharmaceutical value chain efficiency, has introduced an updated version of its customer-facing app. Designed to serve as an operating system for neighborhood pharmacies and Proprietary Patent Medicine Vendors (PPMVs) across the continent, this new app offers a range of features tailored to their unique needs.
The updated app includes a digital POS terminal for payment collection, virtual business accounts for receiving payments, an in-built barcode scanner for recording product sales, and store-switch functionality to manage multiple stores seamlessly. Additionally, it provides inventory management solutions for restocking and identifying short-dated products, along with comprehensive financial reporting and data analytics for informed decision-making.
Despite accounting for 85% of retail medicines sold in Africa’s pharmaceutical industry, neighborhood pharmacies and PPMVs lack bespoke digital tools to manage their operations efficiently. This results in challenges in running operations effectively and obtaining empirical insights into customer behavior for manufacturers.
Addressing Healthcare Challenges in Africa
The Remedial Health app, designed specifically for healthcare businesses in Africa, aims to address these challenges. Starting in Nigeria, the app offers features to streamline sales and inventory management, providing vetted medicines and real-time market behavior data to manufacturers. This empowers healthcare providers to serve their communities effectively while improving profitability.
