IBM has announced the expansion of its software portfolio globally to 92 countries in AWS Marketplace, a digital catalog featuring thousands of software listings from independent software vendors (ISVs). This move makes it easier for clients to find, test, buy, and deploy software running on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The expansion includes 18 African countries, facilitating procurement, streamlining purchasing, and allowing the use of AWS committed spending for IBM software purchases.
As per a Canalys study, cloud marketplaces are emerging as the fastest-growing route to market for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) software. Marketplaces also help shorten the buying cycle, consolidate billing, and facilitate quick software deployment.
“IBM’s global expansion with AWS Marketplace opens up innovation opportunities for our joint customers across the world,” said Matt Yanchyshyn, General Manager AWS Marketplace and Partner Services at AWS. “By leveraging the speed and simplified procurement capabilities of AWS Marketplace, customers can now more easily access IBM’s cutting-edge solutions, enabling them to accelerate their digital transformation and drive innovation at scale. This expanded collaboration between AWS and IBM reflects our shared commitment to empowering customers with the tools and resources they need to succeed in today’s fast-paced environment.”.
IBM’s global expansion with AWS Marketplace offers clients more access to its leading artificial intelligence (AI) and data technologies, with a portfolio of 44 listings and 29 SaaS offerings available for purchase. These include components of the watsonx AI and Data platform, such as Watsonx.data and Watsonx.ai, along with IBM’s flagship database Db2 Cloud Pak for Data and a portfolio of automation software.
Additionally, IBM is launching 15 new IBM Consulting professional services and assets on AWS Marketplace, exclusively designed for AWS, focusing on data and application modernization, security services, and tailored industry-specific solutions.
