Africa’s leading payments technology company, Flutterwave, has unveiled its latest innovation — a referral program integrated into its cross-border remittance product, Send App. The initiative comes as the company continues to expand its role in driving Africa’s growing digital payments ecosystem.

The launch also coincides with the integration of Swap, a feature that allows users to seamlessly convert Nigerian Naira (NGN) to foreign currencies within the app. This makes sending money across borders faster, easier, and more rewarding for both senders and receivers.

Flutterwave has built a reputation as a payments leader enabling businesses worldwide to expand into Africa and other emerging markets. Its platform facilitates both local and cross-border transactions through a single Application Programming Interface (API). To date, the company has processed over 890 million transactions worth more than USD $34 billion. The new “Share and Earn” referral program is designed to harness the power of word-of-mouth while rewarding loyalty. Nigerian customers can earn up to ₦5,000 when they refer domestic users who complete their first transaction of at least ₦200,000. Similarly, for inbound transfers from the US, UK, and Europe, both the sender and the receiver benefit. Senders can earn up to $20, £20, or €20, while Nigerian recipients receive up to ₦5,000.
