eLearning Africa, the continent’s foremost conference and exhibition on digital learning, training, and skills development will convene its 2024 edition from May 29th to 31st in Kigali, Rwanda. The Ministry of Education, Rwanda, will host this landmark event, bringing together an unprecedented gathering of experts, educators, policymakers, business leaders, and innovators from across Africa and beyond. The event focuses not only on education but also on crucial aspects of training and skills development.
2024 Theme
The theme of eLearning Africa 2024, “Education Fuels Innovation, Investment Amplifies Skills: Africa’s Vibrant Leap Forward,” will emphasize the crucial link between education, investment, and innovation for Africa’s progress. With 72+ sessions and workshops facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration across sectors like education, vocational training, workplace, and lifelong learning, the event will underscore capacity building in 4IR, AI, TVET, tourism, health, agriculture, and other key industries driving Africa’s development.
The Minister for Education, Hon. Claudette Irere, comments on the upcoming event. She says “Today, there is an increasing need to adopt a blended mode of learning to foster broader access to quality education and resiliency of the education systems, for all students to be prepared for the technological revolution of the 21st century, and beyond.”
The eLearning Africa 2024 exhibition serves as the networking hub of the event, featuring top education, training, and tech companies worldwide. Showcasing a wide range of EdTech innovation, from gamified learning apps to online proctoring tools, IT attracted buyers, analysts, and investors across academic, corporate, and public sectors.

CEO & Founder of eLearning, Rebecca Stromeyer, elaborated on the significance of the event. The conference features two extraordinary plenary sessions, streamlined to encapsulate the transformative impact of integrating technology with education. The opening session explores how strategic investments in education could unlock innovation and skill development, contributing to the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals. The second plenary session focuses on transformative strategies for education, training, and skills development, highlighting the role of digital innovation in shaping the future workforce.
Keynote speakers include Hon. Minister of Education Gaspard Twagirayezu (Rwanda), Dr. Laila Macharia (Aspen Institute’s Africa Initiative, Kenya), Frank van Cappelle (UNICEF), and Hon.
