Cisco’s new Vice President, David Mead
Cisco announces the appointment of David Meads as Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, Romania, and the Commonwealth of Independent States- CIS. He succeeds Reem Asaad, who led Cisco’s business in the region for over four years.
In his new role, Meads will oversee Cisco’s strategy and commercial operations, focusing on enabling customers and partners to leverage digital technologies for economic growth and societal benefit. He will maintain his current position as Chief Executive of Cisco in the UK and Ireland until the end of Cisco’s fiscal year in July 2024.
With three decades of experience spanning various business functions and regions, including the Middle East and Africa, Meads brings extensive industry and technology expertise to the position.

Meads initiated his journey with Cisco in 1996 and has occupied several leadership roles, notably serving as Chief Executive of Cisco UK & Ireland since 2019. Before assuming this role, as Vice President of Cisco’s EMEA Partner Organization, he formulated strategic initiatives to aid in the management and support of partners, who serve as the company’s primary route to the market. Additionally, Meads dedicated a decade to the Middle East and Africa, steering Cisco’s operations in the region. Prior to that, he worked in Africa and South Africa, playing a pivotal role in collaborating with governments and businesses to cultivate technology skills and ecosystems crucial for driving economic growth.
