Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. announces a significant collaboration with Falcon Business Institute to advance cybersecurity education globally.
As the digital landscape evolves, the demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals continues to exceed supply, with a global shortfall nearing four million. According to the most recent WEF Report, the scarcity is particularly acute in Africa, which, given a burgeoning population of over 1.4 billion, has only 20,000 certified security professionals.
Charnie-Lee Adams Kruger, SADC Country Manager at Check Point Software Technologies. “Through our partnership with Falcon Business Institute, we are addressing the critical gap in cybersecurity training in South Africa, a region experiencing high demand for qualified personnel. This initiative is pivotal in our strategy to empower future cybersecurity leaders, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, equipping them with essential skills to combat escalating cyber threats.”
Falcon Business Institute, celebrating 30 years of educational excellence since its inception in 1994, has been a prominent contributor to offering high-quality education. The institute’s Falcon Foundation provides a variety of business and technological programs that help to strengthen the local workforce.
Concurrently, Check Point Secure Academy plays an important role in developing fresh talent by providing partners with free instructor training, courseware, and significantly discounted certification examinations. Check Point assures that its cutting-edge cybersecurity courses are not only theoretically sound but also applicable in real-world cybersecurity applications by incorporating them within Falcon Business Institute’s established teaching structure.
“We are excited to collaborate with Check Point Secure Academy, a partnership perfectly aligned with our mission of empowering the next generation through education,” said Ali Busani, Director at Falcon Business Institute. “This alliance will enrich our curriculum with top-tier cybersecurity training and grant our students unprecedented access to industry-leading expertise and resources. Together, we are committed to cultivating a resilient cybersecurity workforce capable of safeguarding our digital future.”
The Institute of Chartered IT Professionals (ICITP) approves Falcon Business Institute to provide innovative candidate and professional learning programs addressing critical and scarce skills in industries like cybersecurity. This certification assures that all programs that conform with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) result in an ICITP professional qualification and registration.
The relationship between Check Point Secure Academy and Falcon Business Institute will begin with the enrollment of the first batch of students in the 2019 academic year.
This alliance aims to set a new benchmark for cybersecurity education in the region, making a significant contribution to the global fight against cybercrime. The post New Collaboration Aims to Enhance Cybersecurity Education first appeared on IT News Africa | Business Technology, Telecoms and Startup News.
