Dakar Academy Central, a prominent international school in Senegal, West Africa, has announced a new partnership with global edtech leader Discovery Education.
This collaboration will provide teachers at Dakar Academy with access to award-winning digital products aimed at preparing students for the future and nurturing their inherent curiosity in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
Founded in 1961 as the first international and Christian school in Dakar, Dakar Academy is an international, college-preparatory school offering education from Pre-K through 12th grade, following a North American-based curriculum. Located on a spacious campus in Hann Maristes, the academy educates 285 students from over 50 different countries, aiming to produce well-rounded students prepared for university-level studies. Seeking to enhance science instruction and implement a comprehensive STEM curriculum to prepare students for life beyond the classroom, Dakar Academy’s team sought engaging digital resources.

The Discovery Education Science Techbook series offers a comprehensive, research-backed science solution for grades K-12. Utilized in classrooms globally, the Science TechBooks foster engagement with exclusive, phenomena-based, interactive digital content alongside companion printed resources. Featuring virtual and hands-on investigations, STEM activities, and instructional supports, Techbook enhances impactful, blended instruction, whether in-person or at a distance. Coordinated teacher guides accompanying the Science TechBooks provide unit, concept, and lesson overviews, standards connections, and differentiation activities to inform instructional planning and facilitate three-dimensional learning.
